All candidates running in the November General Election are required to have campaign finance reports into the clerk’s office today by noon, local time.
If there weren’t any finances recorded, paperwork indicating that fact still needs to be filed in the clerk’s office.
The Starke County Election Board members and the Pulaski County Election Board members fine a candidate $50 per day the paperwork is not filed in the clerk’s office. The candidate can appeal the fine in a public hearing held before the board members. They have the ultimate decision on either waiving the fine or reducing the fine on a case by case basis.
For more information, call the Starke County Clerk’s Office at 574-772-9160 or the Pulaski County Clerk’s Office at 574-946-3313.
